Boxer Laura Akram qualifies for the semi-finals of the World Boxing Challenge

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani female boxer Laura Akram has qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing World Boxing Challenge in the Czech Republic. Laura Akram defeated Palestinian female boxer Nora. Laura Akram will face Mongolia’s Ardenlai in the semi-finals of the 57 kg category.

Laura Akram will be the first Pakistani female elite boxer to win a medal at the World Boxing Challenge. In 2003, Noman Karim won a bronze medal at the World Championship. Laura Akram won the championship in Karachi last year. Laura Akram is a British Pakistani and was invited by the Pakistan Boxing Federation to represent Pakistan in 2023.
