China Blames Trump for Escalating Iran-Israel Conflict Warns Against Pouring Oil on Fire
BEIJING: China has sharply criticized former US President Donald Trump accusing him of escalating tensions between Iran and Israel by issuing provocative warnings and making inflammatory remarks.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun slammed Trump recent call on social media urging residents to immediately evacuate Tehran following Israel’s surprise aerial offensive on Iranian targets last week.
Fanning the flames, pouring oil, making threats and applying pressure will not help calm the situation — it will only intensify and widen the conflict Guo said.
He urged nations with special influence on Israel — a veiled reference to the United States — to take responsibility and help contain the crisis.
Trump’s Warning Sparks Outrage
Trump’s post on Truth Social in which he warned Iranians to evacuate Tehran was widely seen as provocative amid a rapidly deteriorating regional situation. The remark followed Israel unexpected aerial campaign which it claimed was aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear ambitions — a claim Tehran denies, reiterating its program is for peaceful purposes.
The flare-up has raised global alarm over the risk of a broader Middle East war. Trump also called on Iran to return to nuclear negotiations but the talks have stalled since the escalation.
China Urges De-escalation Evacuates Citizens
China has consistently urged restraint. Its embassies in Tehran and Tel Aviv issued travel advisories on Tuesday urging Chinese citizens to leave both countries immediately amid the spiraling conflict.
The Chinese Embassy in Iran coordinated with local authorities to facilitate departures, recommending land routes via Turkey Armenia and Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile the Chinese Embassy in Israel advised nationals to exit toward Jordan, warning that the security situation was rapidly deteriorating.
Civilian infrastructure has been heavily damaged casualties are mounting, and the conflict shows no sign of slowing down it stated on its official WeChat account.
