“Toronto Kicks Off Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum 2025: Empowering Women in Business”

The City of Toronto hosted the Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum 2025 at City Hall, bringing together women innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs to discuss the future of business and economic growth. The event highlighted the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs, who make up 31% of Canada’s entrepreneurs but receive only 3% of financing.

The City of Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said that This year’s theme, Technology, Talent, and Transformation, speaks to the moment we’re in. As the world shifts, Toronto is ready: leading in AI, welcoming talent from around the globe, and helping businesses adapt and grow.

Together with all levels of government, our partners at the Diversity Institute / Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub, and sponsors Desjardins and Interac, we’re creating the conditions for women-led businesses to thrive.

The Toronto Public Library and the Toronto Small Business Enterprise Centre are offering free mentorship, training, and support to women entrepreneurs.

Partnerships: The Diversity Institute / Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub, Desjardins, and Interac are partnering with the city to create conditions for women-led businesses to thrive.
