
Grand welcome for the World Test Champion South African team
Johannesburg: (Web Desk) The World Test Champion South African team was given a grand welcome upon their return home. Children, adults, and senior citizens arrived at Johannesburg Airport accompanied by band players, while captain Bavuma was greeted with enthusiastic slogans when he came out and a traditional African dance was also performed.
After winning the ICC World Test Championship, the winning South African cricketers returned to Johannesburg on Wednesday and were given a rousing welcome. South African Sports Minister Gavin McKenzie welcomed the team. A large number of cricket fans were present to welcome the winning team, while children, adults, and the elderly arrived at Johannesburg Airport with band players.
The players, along with captain Temba Bavuma and coach Shukri Conrad, celebrated among thousands of fans at the airport, including former players, current teammates, and a large number of fans who had taken time off from school and work.
On Saturday, South Africa defeated Australia by five wickets at Lord’s to win the ICC event for the first time in 27 years.
