
PM Shehbaz, Interior Minister Naqvi Condemn Swabi Attack That Killed Two Policemen
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday denounced the tragic killing of two police officials in a targeted gun attack in Swabi. The incident, which took place late Friday night within the jurisdiction of IDS Police Station, claimed the lives of Constable Jamal Din and driver Zahid after unidentified assailants opened fire on them.
According to police reports, the attackers managed to flee before law enforcement could arrive. The bodies of the fallen officers were transported to a nearby hospital.
In a statement issued by the PM Office, Shehbaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the loss, offered prayers for the departed souls, and extended condolences to the grieving families. He instructed security agencies to launch a comprehensive investigation and ensure those responsible face “exemplary punishment.”
“The war against terrorism will continue until it is wiped out from our soil,” the prime minister asserted. He also commended the dedication and bravery of police forces defending the nation.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in a separate message, paid tribute to the martyred officers, describing their sacrifice as the ultimate act of courage. He assured the bereaved families of full government support and praised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for their tireless efforts in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Funeral prayers for the officers were held at Police Line Shah Mansoor, attended by senior officials and local dignitaries.
