Cloudy weather with rain likely in Islamabad, KP, Punjab and Sindh
Islamabad, June 23, 2025 –
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather update forecasting partly cloudy conditions and rain in various regions, including Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Sindh, while also warning of persistent heatwave conditions across much of the country.
In Islamabad, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with a chance of light to moderate rainfall, particularly in the evening or late night hours.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Weather Forecast
While the majority of KP will remain hot and humid, localized rain showers are expected in Dir, Swat, Haripur, and Abbottabad. Citizens are advised to stay alert during possible rain-thunderstorms in northern regions.
Punjab Weather: Hot, Humid & Dusty
The weather in central and southern Punjab will be intensely hot and muggy, but areas such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Lahore are expected to receive rain with occasional strong winds.
Meanwhile, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Dera Ghazi Khan may experience dust storms and gusty winds, further reducing visibility.
Sindh Braces for More Heat
Most of Sindh, especially Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Larkana, will see extremely hot and humid conditions. Upper and central districts are likely to bear the brunt of the ongoing heatwave during the daytime.
Balochistan Remains Dry and Hot
In Balochistan, hot and dry weather will prevail. Southern and eastern regions, including Turbat, Sibi, and Khuzdar, may experience intense daytime heat, raising the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Heatwave Advisory
The Meteorological Department has strongly advised residents across the country to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and follow all necessary precautions to mitigate heat-related risks. The heatwave is expected to persist for several more days in many areas.
Weather Tips for Residents:
- Limit outdoor activities between 11 am and 4 pm.
- Keep hydrated and wear light clothing.
- Monitor local weather reports for sudden changes.
- Prepare for potential dust storms in southern Punjab and Balochistan.
