Charlotte: (Web Desk) Brazilian club Fluminense have advanced to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Inter Milan 0-2 in a brilliant performance.

The match, played in the scorching heat of Charlotte, North Carolina, got off to a dream start for Fluminense, when German Kino responded quickly to a deflected cross in just the third minute and put the ball into the net.
In the 30th minute of the match, the Brazilian team missed another golden opportunity to double the score, when Zoomer failed to block a shot by Jon Arias, and Samuel Xavier’s rebound shot went just wide.

In the 39th minute, Ignacio scored a second goal but the goal was disallowed by offside technology. In the second half, Inter Milan had most of the possession, but the dangerous attacks continued from Fluminense.
In the 91st minute of the match, Inter Milan’s defensive line failed once again, when Hercules controlled the ball after a throw-in and fired a shot from the edge of the penalty area into a quiet, low corner to give Fluminense a decisive lead. The Fluminense fans erupted in joy after the goal.
With this success, Fluminense became the second Brazilian team to reach the quarter-finals in the expanded Club World Cup format for the first time, after Palmeiras also made it to the last eight.
