Gandapur Dares State to Constitutionally Topple PTI-Led K-P Government
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has issued a bold challenge to the state and its institutions, asserting that any attempt to topple his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government must be made through constitutional means. Speaking at a joint press conference alongside PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, and other senior leaders, Gandapur said he would quit politics if the state succeeded in ousting his government legally.
He warned the authorities against conspiracies and unconstitutional actions, declaring that PTI’s governance in K-P is entirely loyal to party founder Imran Khan. Gandapur stated that those aligned with Khan cannot be coerced into defection and that previous efforts, including martial law and governors’ rule, had already failed to destabilize PTI’s power base.
Responding to ongoing political tension, Gandapur criticized the 26th Constitutional Amendment and pledged to reverse it if PTI returns to power. He also expressed frustration at not being granted a meeting with Imran Khan, calling it a denial of basic democratic rights.
On future plans, Gandapur revealed PTI will launch a nationwide political movement following Muharram and warned that any violent state crackdown would be met with a proportionate response.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar reiterated that all party decisions are guided by Imran Khan, emphasizing loyalty to his leadership and denouncing government actions like mass arrests, election manipulation, and refusal to consult Khan on critical governance issues.
Meanwhile, Salman Akram Raja condemned historical injustices and the suppression of democratic voices, affirming that the PTI’s mission is to restore dignity, constitutional rights, and democratic order in Pakistan.
