Bushra Ansari Praises Hania Aamir, Criticizes Indian Backlash Over Sardar Ji 3
Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has spoken out in strong support of rising star Hania Aamir while addressing the backlash the young actress has faced from Indian social media users over her role in Sardar Ji 3, a cross-border film project co-starring Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh.
In a candid vlog recorded during her visit to Canada, Bushra showered Hania with praise, commending her talent, discipline, and professionalism. “Hania Aamir is an extremely dedicated actor,” she said. “She gives her 100 percent on set, no matter the weather or conditions. It’s not about how much you’re paid—Hania shows up with full commitment, and that’s what makes her special.”
Calling her success well-deserved and not a stroke of luck, Bushra expressed pride in Hania’s rapid rise in the entertainment industry, crediting her work ethic for her achievements at such a young age.
Bushra also addressed the controversy surrounding Hania’s casting in Sardar Ji 3, particularly the wave of online criticism from Indian social media users. “Why are some people reacting so negatively? When she signed the film, everything was fine. Now that it’s out, suddenly her presence is a threat?” she questioned, urging Indian audiences to show maturity and not politicize artistic collaborations.
Drawing parallels with the treatment faced by Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in India, Bushra questioned the recurring pattern of backlash against Pakistani talent. “The same thing happened with Fawad Khan. Is it logical to suddenly turn against artists after welcoming them? It feels like a deliberate attempt to sabotage cross-border collaborations,” she stated, adding that incidents like the recent one in Pahalgam may have been used to stir controversy.
She also took a subtle jab at Indian lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar, referencing past debates involving cultural icons. “We couldn’t afford Lata Mangeshkar? That’s not the point—she was and always will be a legend. But why drag these issues into politics?”
Bushra’s remarks have since gone viral, resonating with many viewers who applauded her for defending artistic freedom and calling out divisive narratives in the region. Her bold comments reflect ongoing frustrations about the challenges faced by cross-border collaborations in South Asia’s entertainment landscape.
