South Africa captain Wayne Mulder shocked cricket fans by declaring his innings against Zimbabwe.

South African all-rounder Wayne Mulder shocked the cricketing world when he decided to declare his innings during the lunch break on the second day of the second Test against Zimbabwe while he was unbeaten on 367 runs.
The 27-year-old, who led the Proteas for the first time in Test cricket, broke several major and long-standing records with his memorable innings and also recorded the highest individual score by a South African batsman in Tests, surpassing Hashim Amla.

Milder could have broken West Indies great Brian Lara’s record of 400 runs for the highest individual score in Test cricket, but he decided against it.
He declared the touring side’s first innings at 626/5 at lunch on the second day, just 34 runs short of overtaking Lara.

As a result, Milder became the batsman with the fifth-highest individual score in the format with an unbeaten 367 off 410 balls, studded with 49 fours and four sixes.
