Turkish Airlines to Expand Flight Operations to Pakistan from October 27
Turkish Airlines has announced plans to expand its flight operations in Pakistan starting October 27, 2025. The carrier will increase the frequency of its Istanbul-Lahore route from 11 to 14 weekly flights, while the Istanbul-Islamabad route will also see a rise from 10 to 14 weekly flights. All additional flights will be operated using Airbus A-300 aircraft. This expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening connectivity between Turkey and Pakistan. The announcement comes shortly after a Turkish Airlines flight experienced a technical fault on July 7, 2025, prompting an emergency landing at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The Istanbul-bound aircraft returned shortly after takeoff due to a detected malfunction. The pilot promptly contacted air traffic control, executed a safe return, and landed the aircraft without incident. Post-landing, the plane was moved to a secure bay for technical inspection by engineering teams.
