Nairobi: (Web Desk) 19 people were killed in anti-government protests in Kenya last month, while 31 people have been killed this month.
According to the international news agency, attempts were made to violently suppress anti-government protest rallies in Kenya that have been ongoing since last year, in which the total death toll has exceeded 100.
The anti-government protests also included the death in police custody of a leading teacher and blogger, Albert Ojuang, which sparked public outrage.
There were violent clashes between protesters and police in several cities, including Nairobi, with protesters demanding the resignation of President William Ruto.
The police not only opened indiscriminate fire on the protesters, but also arrested more than 500 people who are allegedly being tortured in prisons.
It should be noted that these latest demonstrations in Kenya intensified on the occasion of “Saba Saba”, a day celebrated as a struggle for democracy in the country.
