Iran Waives Visa Fee for Pakistani Zaireen Ahead of Arbaeen

Jul 14, 2025

On the occasion of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s official visit to Tehran, Iran has announced a new visa policy offering significant relief to Pakistani Zaireen (pilgrims).

Minister Naqvi participated in a trilateral meeting with Iran and Iraq to address challenges faced by Pakistani pilgrims and to enhance facilities for Arbaeen—the religious observance marking the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS).

As part of the updated policy, Iran has completely waived visa fees for Pakistani Zaireen, including those applying for double-entry visas.

Iranian visas for Arbaeen will be issued from 1st Safar to 16th Safar. Pilgrims must now travel with a registered caravan, and each caravan must arrange its own transportation and ensure that pilgrims possess a valid Iraqi visa before applying for the Iranian visa.

Additionally, the insurance fee for this period will be reduced by 50%, easing the financial burden on pilgrims.
