England Edge India by 22 Runs in Lord’s Thriller, Take 2-1 Series Lead

LONDON — England held their nerve in a tense final session at Lord’s to clinch a 22-run victory over India in the third Test, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series on Monday.

Chasing 193 for victory, India were bowled out for 170 shortly after tea on the final day. The match ended dramatically when Mohammed Siraj played on to Shoaib Bashir, handing England a hard-fought win in one of the most gripping Tests of the series.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stood tall for India with an unbeaten 61, his fourth consecutive fifty of the series, keeping India’s hopes alive till the very end.

England skipper Ben Stokes played a pivotal role with the ball, returning figures of 3-48 in two long spells. Meanwhile, Jofra Archer, making his Test comeback after four years, claimed 3-55 and regularly bowled at over 90 mph.
