Pakistan lose T20I series to Bangladesh with 8-run defeat in second match

Bangladesh are now leading the bilateral series against Pakistan after registering a second consecutive win on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

In pursuit of the 134-run target set by Bangladesh, the entire Pakistan team were bowled out for 125 runs in the final over. Faheem Ashraf was the top scorer with 51 runs. Fakhar Zaman scored 8, Saim Ayub 1, captain Salman Agha 9, and Khushdil Shah made 13 before getting out.

Among the other players, Abbas Afridi scored 19, and Ahmed Daniyal 17 runs before being dismissed, while Mohammad Haris, Hasan Nawaz, and Mohammad Nawaz returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs.

For Bangladesh, Sharif Islam took three wickets, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mehidy Hasan took two wickets each, while Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain claimed one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first.

Zakir Ali was the standout performer with 55 runs, followed by Mehidy Hasan with 33; Parvez Hossain Emon with 13; Rishad Hossain with 8; and captain Liton Das with just 8 runs.

For Pakistan, Salman Mirza, debutant Ahmed Daniyal, and Abbas Afridi each took two wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf claimed a wicket each.

In the first encounter, Bangladesh had defeated Pakistan by seven wickets. Parvez Hossain Emon played a stellar innings of 56 runs which helped his side aced towards victory.

Both sides will play the final and third match on Thursday.
