
Chief Justice: AI Integration Being Considered in Pakistan’s Judicial System
Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan has stated that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) is under serious consideration to enhance efficiency and transparency in the judicial system. He emphasized that the evolving needs of justice demand the integration of modern technologies.
Speaking at a recent legal forum, the Chief Justice highlighted how AI can assist in reducing case backlogs, improving case management, and facilitating quicker legal research. He noted that several countries have already adopted AI-driven tools in their court systems with positive results.
“Technology is no longer optional — it is essential for ensuring timely justice,” the Chief Justice remarked, adding that Pakistan’s judiciary is actively studying global models to develop a framework suitable for local implementation.
He also underscored the importance of ensuring that any AI integration is done ethically, with full respect for legal safeguards and human rights.
Legal experts and judicial officers present at the event welcomed the initiative and called it a step toward modernization and reform.
