
Family cut ties with father because of singing: Humaira Channa
Lahore: Singer Humaira Channa has revealed that her family, especially her uncle, had severed ties with her father when she started singing. Humaira Channa recently participated in Dunya News’ comedy program ‘Mazaq Raat’, where she spoke openly about various issues.
He said that his father was a film producer, who initially produced Sindhi and later Punjabi and Urdu films, while his mother was also interested in the performing arts. Although Lutfia did not find singing difficult due to her parents’ interest in the arts, she faced severe difficulties in making a name for herself and getting opportunities.
According to him, he started singing at a young age on Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television (PTV), where he also worked with musician Nisar Bazmi. Later, it was Nisar Bazmi who gave him the opportunity to sing in films for the first time, and he sang all the songs of the film ‘Hum Ek Hain’.
The singer revealed that a singer was cast as the heroine in the aforementioned film, who argued with Nisar Bazmi to sing the songs of the film, but he did not listen to the heroine. She said that during the making of the aforementioned film, the hero also quarreled with Nisar Bazmi, and the stories of the fight and quarrel in this film are famous throughout the film industry.
According to the singer, after Nisar Bazmi sang all the songs in the film at a young age, she gained confidence and won awards for her singing in the film. She reached the heights of fame, after which she got the opportunity to sing with the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
