
Russian airstrikes on Ukraine: 27 people killed
Russia launched a series of airstrikes on southeastern Ukraine, killing 27 people and wounding more than 50.
According to the International News Agency, a Ukrainian Air Force spokesman said that Russia launched 37 drones and 2 missiles in one night, of which 32 drones were destroyed in the air.
The heaviest casualties in Russia’s airstrikes on Ukraine were in Zaporizhia, where a prison was hit.
At least 16 prisoners were killed and 35 injured in a Russian airstrike on a Ukrainian prison, 11 of whom are in critical condition, with the death toll expected to rise.
A shop was hit in a village northeast of Kharkiv. Five people were killed and three were injured.
One civilian was also reported killed and three injured in the southern Kherson region.
In addition, a Russian missile strike killed three people, including a pregnant woman, in the city of Kamianka, while one civilian was killed and several others were injured in the Senilnikovo district.
Similarly, a 75-year-old woman was killed and a 68-year-old man was injured in the village of Velika Mikhailovka in the Odessa region.
The latest attacks on Ukraine came a day after US President Donald Trump gave Russia a new deadline of 10 to 12 days to end the war or face tougher sanctions.
Elsewhere, a Ukrainian drone strike killed one person in the southern Russian region of Rostov.
