Approves 1,220 flats for industrial workers:Punjab Cabinet

Lahore: The Punjab cabinet meeting approved the provision of 1220 flats for industrial workers.

The 28th meeting of the provincial cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, in which several important issues were considered. Provincial ministers, advisors and special assistants, among others, attended the meeting.
The meeting approved the provision of flats for industrial workers in Punjab. Workers in Labor Complex Sundar, Kasur, and Labor Colony Taxila will get flats through a lottery. The proposal to charge the workers for the flats was rejected.
The cabinet meeting considered the approval of leases for telecom towers on government land, the draft of the Child Labor Prevention Rules 2024 was also considered, and a proposal to lift the ban on recruitment in the Punjab Charity Commission was under consideration.
The provincial cabinet approved lifelong pension for the widows of employees, ordered the establishment of regular industries for prisoners in jails, and announced a reward of Rs 50,000 each for rescue personnel performing flood duty.

The Punjab cabinet also approved increasing the salary of workers uniformly to Rs 40,000.
