Asif Ali announces retirement from international cricket

LAHORE (Web News) – Pakistan’s middle-order batter Asif Ali on Monday announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a career marked by power-hitting and memorable knocks in green.
The 33-year-old made the announcement on Instagram, calling his stint with the national side the “proudest chapter” of his life.
“Alhamdulillah, wearing the Pakistan jersey has been the greatest honour of my life and serving my country on the cricket field has been my proudest chapter,” Asif wrote.
He expressed gratitude to his teammates, coaches, fans, and family for their support throughout his career, particularly during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, when he lost his young daughter. “Your strength carried me forward,” he said.
