ISLAMABAD: The British High Commission of HE Jany Marriott in Pakistan has issued a statement emphasizing the importance of diversity in Pakistan’s strength and vibrancy. On National Minorities Day, the statement highlights the significance of inclusivity and celebrates the country’s diverse religious population. She said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned a Pakistan where all citizens, regardless of their religion, would be treated equally and have the same rights and privileges. The statement emphasizes that Pakistan’s diverse religious population is a source of strength and vibrancy for the country.

Celebrating Minority Contributions National Minorities Day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions of minority communities to Pakistan’s development and progress Jany added. Jinnah’s Vision for Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision for Pakistan was rooted in democracy, equality, and justice. He believed in a secular and inclusive society where all citizens would be treated equally, regardless of their faith. In his iconic speech on August 11, 1947, Jinnah declared, “You are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed—that has nothing to do with the business of the State” ³ ¹.
