Canada Promotes Cross-Cultural Dialogue with Banff Mountain Film Festival at ThinkFest Lahore
At the ongoing ThinkFest “Afkar-e-Taza” in Lahore, the Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Tariq Ali Khan, highlighted Canada’s cultural engagement with Pakistan by bringing elements of the Banff International Mountain Film Festival to the event.
LAHORE: During ThinkFest at the Alhamra Arts Council, Canada’s participation included a pavilion showcasing Canadian culture, opportunities, and dialogue between the two countries. As part of this cultural outreach, the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour was featured live at Alhamra’s Hall 2 on January 24, presenting adventure and mountain-themed films to the Lahore audience.

The Canadian pavilion also served as an informational hub where visitors learned about Canada’s educational and economic prospects, reflecting broader goals of strengthening people-to-people ties and cultural exchange.
The Banff Festival itself is an internationally renowned annual celebration of outdoor adventure, culture, and mountain life; following its main event in Banff, Canada, a curated selection of its films tours globally to over 40 countries, engaging audiences with compelling stories of exploration and nature.

This collaboration at ThinkFest underscores Canada’s interest in fostering cultural diplomacy and enhancing bilateral relations with Pakistan through artistic and intellectual platforms.
