Hadiqa Kiani pays heartfelt tribute to her late mother

Pakistani pop icon Hadiqa Kiani shared an emotional message in memory of her late mother, Khawar Kiani, reminding fans that some bonds transcend loss.

Taking to Instagram, Kiani wrote: “Life will never be the same without you … but you’ll always live in me, my dear mother.” The deeply personal note reflected the enduring love and lifelong connection she shared with her mother.

A Lasting Legacy

Khawar Kiani, a poetess and former principal of a government girls’ school in Rawalpindi, passed away peacefully in 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She left behind a legacy of strength, education, and artistic influence that profoundly shaped her daughter’s life and career.

Her impact extended beyond parenting. Khawar played an instrumental role in nurturing Hadiqa’s early musical talent — enrolling her at the National Council of the Arts and encouraging her creative pursuits from childhood.

She also contributed directly to her daughter’s success, penning lyrics for some of Hadiqa’s early hits, including the beloved song Boohey Barian, which helped launch Kiani into national stardom in the 1990s.

A Mother-Daughter Creative Bond

Born in Rawalpindi, Hadiqa Kiani rose to prominence as one of Pakistan’s most influential female pop singers. Behind that rise was a unique mother-daughter partnership rooted in artistic collaboration and trust.

Fans and fellow artists have responded to the tribute with messages of support, remembering Khawar Kiani not only as a devoted mother but also as an educator and literary figure who contributed meaningfully to Pakistani arts and education.

Beyond Music

Over the years, Hadiqa Kiani has grown beyond pop stardom, becoming known for her humanitarian efforts, including flood relief work and socially driven projects across Pakistan — values she often credits to the upbringing and principles instilled by her family.

Her tribute serves as both a personal remembrance and a public acknowledgment of the woman whose guidance and creativity helped shape one of Pakistan’s most enduring musical voices.
