Khawaja Asif: Recent attacks on Iran “extremely regrettable”

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Sunday termed the recent attacks on Iran “extremely regrettable,” saying the developments had deeply saddened the people of Pakistan.

In a message posted on X, Asif stated that Pakistan had supported Iran through all possible diplomatic and moral channels. He added that Pakistan also condemned the attacks at the United Nations.

Call for calm and peaceful protest

The defence minister appealed to religious parties and the general public to exercise patience, urging that any demonstrations remain peaceful.

He warned that if protests were to turn violent or if individuals took the law into their own hands, it would only serve the enemies of Pakistan.

“It is everyone’s responsibility to keep their emotions under control,” he said, stressing that unrest and instability must be avoided.

Asif reiterated that while citizens have the right to express their views, maintaining law and order is essential in the current sensitive situation.
