Ashgabat: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, today, on the sidelines of the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust in Ashgabat.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have reaffirmed the historic and deep fraternal bonds between Pakistan and Turkey, pledging to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The two leaders discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in energy, defence, investment, and regional connectivity.
n this regard, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction at the convening of the 16th session of the Pak-Turkiye JMC that would ensure implementation of the decisions of the 7th HLSCC.
They also exchanged views on regional and global developments, with the Prime Minister appreciating Turkey’s role in facilitating talks between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban regime. The leaders emphasized the importance of regional connectivity, including the revival of the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul rail network. President Erdogan expressed his desire to work together to build stronger ties between the two countries.
