Preliminary Hearing Rescheduled for Self-Proclaimed “Queen of Canada” Romana Didulo
Swift Current, Saskatchewan,The preliminary hearing for self-proclaimed “Queen of Canada” Romana Didulo has been rescheduled to April 13, following pre-trial discussions in Swift Current provincial court.
Didulo faces charges of failing to comply with an undertaking and intimidating a justice system participant. These charges stem from a September 2025 RCMP raid on a compound in the southwest Saskatchewan village of Richmound, where Didulo was living with members of her group, which had occupied a former school in the village for nearly two years. Richmound is located about 365 kilometres west of Regina.
The hearing delay was partly due to the Crown prosecutor Curtis Wiebe being appointed as a provincial court judge in Prince Albert, requiring all his active cases to be reassigned.
Didulo is scheduled to return to court on March 4 for additional pre-trial discussions.
Of the 16 people arrested in September, five were ultimately charged, including Didulo and Ricky Manz, the former school owner. Manz faces similar charges, as well as additional counts of assault, resisting arrest, and uttering threats related to an alleged incident in July 2025. His next court date is also set for March 4.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as the case proceeds through the Saskatchewan court system.
