KARACHI – In a surprising revelation that took fans off guard, rising actress Reham Rafiq shared that she lent her voice to the iconic character of Mowgli in The Jungle Book, during her appearance on Tabish Hashmi’s talk show Hasna Mana Hai.

Known for her roles in Pakistani television dramas, Reham disclosed that she has also built a lesser-known yet extensive career as a voiceover artist. She stated that she has voiced several young male characters over the years in Pakistani and Turkish animated and dubbed content — with her most notable performance being Mowgli.

“I’ve done voiceovers for many years,” Reham said on the show. “Mowgli is one of the characters I’ve voiced, along with several young boys in various shows.”

The revelation quickly made waves online, with fans taking to social media to share their reactions. Many lauded her versatility, applauding her ability to transition between acting and voice acting with ease.

One fan commented, “Such a talented girl in both voiceovers and acting,” while another wrote, “Reham is truly multi-talented. Loved her on the show!”

However, the response wasn’t all positive. Some viewers criticised her on-screen personality, labeling her as “overconfident” and “too loud” in real-life settings, a contrast to the calm and composed character she portrays in the drama Parwarish.

“She fits well in her drama roles, but on shows, she comes across as over talkative,” one user wrote.

Despite the mixed reviews, Reham’s revelation has opened up conversations about the often-overlooked field of voiceover work in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, and the actors who bring animated characters to life behind the scenes.
