Justin Bieber opens up about tense moment with doula during son’s birth
(Web News)Pop superstar Justin Bieber has revealed that he clashed with his wife Hailey Bieber’s doula during the birth of their son, Jack Blues, in August last year.
Speaking candidly during a recent Twitch livestream, the 31-year-old singer described the emotionally charged atmosphere in the delivery room, admitting that he found himself “butting heads” with the doula — a non-medical professional who offers emotional and physical support during childbirth.
“I remember there being tension because we had a doula and a nurse, and they were kind of butting heads,” Bieber recalled. “And then I was also butting heads with the doula.”
The Peaches hitmaker said the experience was overwhelming. “I was hella emotional because it’s one of the most important moments of your life,” he explained. “I think I was being really strong with the doula.”
Bieber shared that his reaction left Hailey feeling uneasy. “She was like, ‘You need to apologise to the doula — just clear the air,’” he said. “So I did. I told her, ‘I don’t want you to take away from my moment either as the dad. I got this too.’”
The singer added that he felt sidelined at times during the birth, believing the doula was overstepping her role. “There were moments I needed to console Hailey, and I felt like she was pushing me aside,” he explained.
Despite the tense exchange, Bieber said the experience taught him valuable lessons about communication and emotional balance. “I’ve got good instincts as a dad,” he said with a smile.
Hailey, 28, and Justin, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, on August 22, 2024. The couple has since shared glimpses of their new life as parents, with fans praising their openness and honesty about the challenges of early parenthood.
