Pakistan-Afghanistan Peace Talks in Saudi Arabia End Without Breakthrough: Reuters
Riyadh:Peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan held in Saudi Arabia have ended without any major breakthrough; however, both sides have agreed to continue the existing ceasefire, according to a report by the international news agency Reuters.
Reuters reported that this was the third round of ceasefire-related negotiations between the two countries, jointly hosted by Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Qatar. Despite extensive discussions, no significant progress was achieved on resolving key disputes.
The report added that both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the ceasefire in order to avoid further escalation. The latest meeting was described as a continuation of previous dialogue efforts, but longstanding differences prevented any substantial agreement.
