Aleema Khan addressing media regarding reports about Imran Khan's detention and alleged meetings at Adiala Jail.

Aleema Khan Rejects Claims of Former Army Chief Meeting Imran Khan in Adiala Jail

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan has strongly denied reports circulating on social media that a former army chief met incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, calling the claims “false” and “misleading.”

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Aleema Khan dismissed the reports and alleged that the rumors were being spread to divert public attention from what she described as restrictions imposed on the PTI founder during his imprisonment.

Aleema Calls Reports “Fake”

According to Aleema Khan, there was no meeting between Imran Khan and any former army chief inside Adiala Jail.

“All the news circulating on social media that a former army chief met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail are fake,” she stated.

The remarks came after unverified claims gained traction across various social media platforms regarding an alleged high-profile meeting at the prison.

Concerns Raised Over Jail Conditions

Aleema Khan also raised concerns regarding Imran Khan’s detention conditions.

She alleged that the former premier faces restrictions including:

  • Limited family access
  • Restricted communication with his sons
  • Lack of access to books
  • No television access
  • Limited outside contact
  • Medical treatment concerns

She specifically claimed that adequate treatment for Imran Khan’s eye condition has not been provided at an appropriate medical facility.

Family Contact Remains a Key Issue

Aleema further stated that Imran Khan has been unable to speak with his sons, Kasim Khan and Suleiman Khan, who currently reside in the United Kingdom with Jemima Goldsmith.

The issue of family access has remained a recurring point of contention between PTI leaders and prison authorities.

PTI Cites Court Orders on Meetings

Aleema referenced court directives concerning visitation rights, arguing that regular access for:

  • Family members
  • Legal representatives
  • Party officials

has been recognized through judicial orders.

She maintained that such access constitutes a legal entitlement under Pakistani law and internationally recognized legal standards.

Imran Khan’s Current Legal Status

Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have remained incarcerated since 2023.

In December 2025, both were sentenced in the Toshakhana-II case, which relates to allegations concerning the retention of gifts received during official state visits.

The couple has challenged multiple cases through various legal forums, while PTI continues to campaign for what it describes as judicial relief and political reconciliation.

PTI Continues Adiala Jail Protests

In recent months, PTI leaders and members of Imran Khan’s family have regularly gathered outside Adiala Jail on court-designated visitation days.

According to party officials, access to the PTI founder has frequently been restricted despite court orders permitting meetings.

The issue remains a central component of PTI’s political narrative as the party continues its campaign regarding Imran Khan’s detention and legal proceedings.

Political Context

The denial comes at a sensitive political moment as PTI navigates internal organizational challenges and prepares for upcoming political activities, including regional election campaigns.

Political analysts note that speculation surrounding Imran Khan’s legal and political future often generates significant social media activity, making verification of such claims particularly important.

With no official confirmation from prison authorities or government sources regarding the alleged meeting, Aleema Khan’s statement currently stands as the most direct response to the circulating reports.
