Six Terrorists Killed in Panjgur Intelligence-Based Operation, ISPR Says

QUETTA: Security forces have killed six terrorists linked to the Indian-sponsored group Fitna al-Hindustan during a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, according to the military’s media wing.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations said the operation was conducted on June 3 and 4 following credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.

Successful Intelligence-Based Operation

According to the military, security forces effectively engaged multiple terrorist hideouts during the operation.

Following intense exchanges of fire, six terrorists were killed. Security personnel also recovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and vehicles from the militants.

The ISPR stated that the slain terrorists were actively involved in various terrorist activities in the region.

“Security forces effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations, and after an intense exchange of fire, six Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the statement said.

Sanitisation Operation Underway

The military said follow-up sanitisation operations are continuing to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements in the area.

Officials emphasized that security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability throughout the country.

Leadership Praises Security Forces

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operation.

Both leaders reiterated that anti-terror operations under the national security framework would continue until terrorism is completely eliminated.

President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to defeat terrorism and ensure lasting peace, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the troops for preventing attacks against innocent citizens.

Interior Minister Commends Operation

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the security forces for their professionalism and bravery.

He said the timely operation successfully foiled the terrorists’ plans and demonstrated the effectiveness of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Balochistan.

“The nation stands firmly with its security forces in the fight against terrorism,” Naqvi stated.

Counter-Terror Campaign Continues

The operation forms part of the broader counter-terrorism campaign being conducted under Azm-e-Istehkam, a national initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan (NAP).

Security officials have pledged to continue intelligence-based operations across the country to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent future attacks.

Earlier this week, security forces eliminated 17 terrorists during a series of operations across multiple districts of Balochistan, including Mastung, Nushki, Khuzdar, Zehri, and Kech.

Authorities say operations against terrorist groups and their facilitators will continue with full force to ensure national security and stability.
