Dr Fazeela Abbasi Granted Interim Bail in Illegal Clinic Case

Court Grants Interim Pre-Arrest Bail to Dr Fazeela Abbasi in Illegal Clinic Case

An Islamabad court has granted interim pre-arrest bail to Dr Fazeela Abbasi in a case related to the operation of an allegedly illegal clinic.

The relief was provided by Special Judge Central Humayun Dilawar, who directed the dermatologist to cooperate with investigators and join the inquiry process.

Dr Abbasi, who is also known as the sister of actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, appeared before the court along with her legal counsel and filed a petition seeking pre-arrest bail.

Court Directs Cooperation with Investigation

The court accepted her plea and granted interim bail against a surety bond of Rs50,000.

During the hearing, the judge instructed Dr Abbasi to:

  • Cooperate fully with investigators
  • Join the ongoing inquiry process
  • Assist authorities in the case

The hearing was subsequently adjourned until April 15, when further proceedings will take place.

FIA Investigating Multiple Cases

Dr Abbasi is currently under investigation in two separate cases registered by the Federal Investigation Agency.

Both cases are linked to allegations surrounding the operation of an illegal clinic.

Authorities are examining whether proper legal procedures and regulatory approvals were followed in establishing and running the clinic.

Previous Bail Plea Was Rejected

This development comes after the special court had earlier dismissed Dr Abbasi’s pre-arrest bail application due to her non-appearance.

In its written order, the court noted that:

  • The petitioner failed to appear despite the case being scheduled
  • Medical grounds cited were not sufficient
  • The request was considered a misuse of pre-arrest bail provisions

As a result, her earlier plea was rejected.

Islamabad High Court Provides Relief

Following the dismissal, Dr Abbasi approached the Islamabad High Court, which granted her interim relief.

The high court allowed her to:

  • Seek medical assistance
  • Appear before the trial court
  • Continue legal proceedings under protection

Additionally, Dr Abbasi is already on bail in a separate money laundering case, for which the Islamabad High Court had restored her bail earlier.

Case Highlights Legal and Regulatory Concerns

The case has drawn attention to broader issues surrounding:

  • Regulation of private medical clinics
  • Compliance with legal requirements
  • Oversight by relevant authorities

With investigations ongoing, authorities are expected to determine whether any violations occurred and what legal actions may follow.

The interim bail granted to Dr Fazeela Abbasi provides temporary relief, but legal proceedings are far from over.

As the Federal Investigation Agency continues its investigation, the case is likely to remain in focus in the coming weeks.

The next hearing on April 15 will be crucial in determining the direction of the case.
