(Web Desk) – Senior Pakistani actress Saba Faisal has come under criticism on social media following remarks about the role of newlywed brides in their in-laws’ homes.
The veteran actress, known for her long-standing career in the entertainment industry, made the comments during a private TV channel’s morning show while discussing marriage and family life. Faisal stated that after a wedding, the in-laws’ home is often busy with guests and responsibilities, most of which fall on the mother-in-law, while a new bride does not immediately take on such responsibilities.
She further suggested that if a bride needs rest, she should first seek permission from her mother-in-law or a married sister-in-law, and that respectful communication would make even a strict mother-in-law more likely to allow it.
The remarks sparked strong reactions online, with many social media users criticizing her views as outdated and unfair. One user questioned, “If you are talking about hostel or in-laws’ home?” while another urged Faisal to avoid morning shows, claiming she often makes controversial statements.
