(Web News)Dua Lipa thrilled fans in Los Angeles after performing a powerful cover of Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 classic ‘The Chain’, marking another standout moment from her ongoing Radical Optimism World Tour.
The global pop star, known for blending modern pop with nostalgic flair, surprised concertgoers at her recent Los Angeles show by paying tribute to the legendary band. Before launching into the emotional track, Lipa addressed the packed arena, saying, “During this tour, I’ve taken the time to honour local musicians and hone in on what makes them unique and what makes them that little bit of magic.”
She continued, “This next song is by a band that’s done exactly that in Los Angeles. They made an incredible album here in the ’70s… this is The Chain.”
Fan-shot videos from the concert quickly went viral, with social media users praising her for putting a fresh spin on one of Fleetwood Mac’s most beloved songs. Many called her rendition “chilling,” while others said she gave the rock anthem a “modern ethereal twist.”
Throughout her Radical Optimism tour, Lipa has been celebrating local music scenes by performing iconic covers in each city. She previously sang Ariana Grande’s hits in Miami, Aerosmith classics in Boston, Sinéad O’Connor in Dublin, Daft Punk in Lyon, and Lorde in New Zealand.
The pop powerhouse has also been joined by several music legends on stage, including Nile Rodgers for “Le Freak” in New York, Chaka Khan for “Ain’t Nobody” in Chicago, and Jamiroquai for “Virtual Insanity” in London.
Her sold-out Wembley Stadium shows in June were later turned into a mini-documentary titled Dua Lipa – The Beat Before (Wembley Stadium), giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at her life on tour.
Away from the stage, Dua has continued to make headlines for her outspoken stance on global issues. Recently, she responded to claims surrounding her agent’s alleged dismissal, reaffirming her support for Palestine, saying, “It is always Free Palestine. But exploiting a global tragedy to sell newspapers is deeply troubling.”
