MP Iqra Khalid Highlights Importance of Seniors’ Well-Being at Erin Mills Wellness Symposium

Mississauga: Member of Parliament Iqra Khalid expressed pride in the Women’s Council of Erin Mills for organizing a thoughtful Seniors Wellness Symposium dedicated to promoting healthy aging and community support.

The event brought together doctors, health experts, and community members for meaningful discussions on dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, fall prevention, and aging with dignity. The symposium featured an impressive lineup of panelists who shared valuable insights and practical advice, making the session both informative and engaging.

In addition to expert talks, participants enjoyed gentle chair yoga sessions and live music by Meget, creating a warm and uplifting atmosphere. MP Iqra Khalid attended the event with her parents and praised the seniors for sharing their wisdom and experiences with the community.

Reflecting on the event with humor, MP Khalid remarked, “It’s funny how when we’re young, the 50s and 60s sound old, until we get there and realize it’s really just wisdom in better shoes.”

The symposium was widely appreciated as a celebration of knowledge, care, and intergenerational connection, reinforcing the community’s commitment to ensuring seniors live with dignity and vitality.
