Warriors-Knicks Final Injury Report: Karl-Anthony Towns Active, Draymond Green Out

NEW YORK — The New York Knicks will have their star center available for Sunday night’s interconference matchup against the Golden State Warriors at Madison Square Garden, while the visiting Warriors will be without eight players, including Draymond Green and Stephen Curry .

Karl-Anthony Towns, who missed Friday’s victory over the Indiana Pacers due to bilateral knee soreness, is off the injury report and will return to the lineup against Golden State . His availability provides a major boost for a Knicks team looking to solidify its position near the top of the Eastern Conference.

On the other side, the Warriors are dealing with what coach Steve Kerr described as “about as beaten up as any team I can ever remember” . Golden State has ruled out Green due to low back injury management, marking his second consecutive missed contest . Stephen Curry remains sidelined as he continues recovering from a lingering right knee injury, depriving Madison Square Garden of a player who has won 10 consecutive games at the iconic arena .

Warriors Injury Report: Skeleton Crew in New York

The Warriors entered Sunday with nine players listed on their injury report, eight of whom have been ruled out .

Ruled Out:

  • Draymond Green (low back injury management)
  • Stephen Curry (right knee)
  • Kristaps Porzingis (illness management)
  • Al Horford (right soleus strain)
  • De’Anthony Melton (left knee injury management)
  • Moses Moody (right wrist sprain)
  • Seth Curry (left adductor strain)
  • Jimmy Butler (torn ACL, out for season)

Questionable:

  • Quinten Post (left ankle sprain)

The absences strip Golden State of players who have combined for 28 All-Star game honors . Post is considered questionable, and if he cannot play, the Warriors will be extremely thin in the frontcourt with Green, Porzingis and Horford all unavailable .

Golden State signed center Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract to provide depth, though Kerr acknowledged he doesn’t “know a whole lot about him” beyond his previous NBA stops . Yurtseven, who hasn’t appeared in an NBA game since April 2024, scored 36 points in a G League game Friday .

Brandin Podziemski and Gui Santos, both 23 years old, have been averaging more than 35 minutes per game in March and will shoulder significant responsibility against the Knicks .

Knicks Injury Report: Towns Returns, Hart Questionable

New York has three players listed on its injury report, with Towns’ removal from the list representing the most significant development .

Available:

  • Karl-Anthony Towns (bilateral knee soreness) — WILL PLAY

Questionable:

  • Josh Hart (left knee soreness)
  • Jeremy Sochan (illness)

Ruled Out:

  • Miles McBride (core muscle surgery recovery)

Josh Hart is in danger of missing his third straight game due to left knee soreness. The veteran guard attributed the issue to an awkward landing on a fast break finish during the March 8 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers . Hart played through the pain in the following game against the Clippers before sitting out the last two contests.

“I hope not. We’ll see. Time will tell,” Hart said Sunday when asked if the injury requires ongoing monitoring .

If Hart is sidelined again, Landry Shamet and Jordan Clarkson could continue to see expanded roles. Jeremy Sochan, listed as questionable with an illness, missed Friday’s game along with Hart.

Matchup Implications

The Knicks enter Sunday’s game with a 43-25 record after defeating the Pacers on Friday. Jalen Brunson led the way with 29 points, five rebounds and nine assists, while OG Anunoby added 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists [citation:original article].

Golden State, meanwhile, arrives in New York on a four-game losing streak with a 32-34 record, sitting 1.5 games ahead of the Trail Blazers for ninth place in the Western Conference [citation:original article].

The absence of Curry removes a historic MSG presence. Throughout his career, Curry holds a remarkable 14-1 record at Madison Square Garden and delivered iconic performances there, including his 54-point breakout game in 2013 and the night he surpassed Ray Allen’s all-time three-point record .

Sunday’s game also eliminates a potential rematch of the Towns-Green rivalry. In the teams’ January meeting—a 126-113 Warriors victory—Green dragged Towns down by his leg with an ugly flagrant foul and later mocked Towns on his podcast .

How to Watch

Fans can catch Sunday night’s matchup between the Warriors and Knicks from Madison Square Garden at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock .

New York enters as heavy favorites, with oddsmakers installing the Knicks as 14.5-point favorites at home .
