Pakistan Rejects Afghan Taliban Claim of Capturing Military Post

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has strongly rejected claims by the Afghan Taliban that its forces captured a Pakistani military post and killed 14 soldiers, calling the allegations “false and fabricated propaganda.”

In a statement posted on X, the ministry’s fact-checking account dismissed the claim made by the Afghan Taliban’s so-called Ministry of Defence, saying the narrative was designed to mislead the Afghan public and lacked any credible evidence.

“The latest claim regarding the capture of a military post and alleged damages is false, fabricated, and intended to misguide internal public opinion in Afghanistan,” the ministry said.

Officials added that the Afghan Taliban and their alleged proxy group Fitna al Khawarij — a term used by Pakistan for militants belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) — have suffered losses in ongoing operations, and updates are being shared with verifiable evidence.

According to the ministry, Pakistan regularly provides video and photographic proof of counterterrorism actions against militant networks and their support infrastructure in areas under Taliban control.

It further alleged that the claims were being amplified through terrorist propaganda channels and Indian social media networks, adding that such reports collapse once they are fact-checked.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also rejected the Taliban’s statement, saying the claims had “no basis or foundation.”

He reiterated that Pakistan continues to release verified information regarding damages inflicted on the Afghan Taliban and their allied militant groups, supported by credible evidence.
