The White House issued a stern warning to Iran on Wednesday, stating that President Donald Trump would escalate military action if Tehran fails to recognize what the US considers a “military defeat.”
White House Statement
- Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump “does not bluff” and is “prepared to unleash hell” on Iran if the regime miscalculates again.
- Leavitt emphasized: “If Iran fails to understand that they have been defeated militarily, President Trump will ensure they are hit harder than they have ever been hit before.”
- The warning comes as the joint US-Israeli war on Iran enters its fourth week, with over 1,340 casualties, including the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran Rejects US Proposal
- Iran dismissed a US proposal aimed at ending the conflict, insisting that any ceasefire occur only on Tehran’s terms and timeline.
- A senior political-security official told state-run Press TV that Iran outlined five conditions for ending the war:
- Complete halt to US-Israeli “aggression and assassinations”
- Establish mechanisms to prevent war from being reimposed
- Guaranteed payment of war damages and reparations
- End of hostilities across all fronts, including support for “resistance groups”
- International recognition of Iran’s sovereignty and authority over the Strait of Hormuz
US Diplomatic Efforts
- The US sent a 15-point plan to Iran through Pakistan, addressing:
- Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs
- Maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz
- Pakistan and Turkiye are being considered as possible venues for negotiations to de-escalate the conflict, though Iran has publicly stated that no talks are currently underway.
Current Situation
- The conflict has disrupted regional stability and global energy supplies, with multiple Gulf nations monitoring escalation risks.
- Despite ongoing airstrikes by the US and Israel, Tehran has indicated that negotiations could only succeed if Iranian conditions are fully met, maintaining a firm stance on sovereignty and security guarantees.
